All Things All-Stars: A Guide to Disney All-Star Resorts
The All-Star Resorts are a great and affordable option for families. There are actually three different resorts - all considered part of the Disney Value Resorts category and located nearest to Animal Kingdom and Blizzard Beach.
The three resorts are:
Disney All-Star Movies Resort
Disney All-Star Music Resort
Disney All-Star Sports Resort
Each resort features over-the-top, larger than life themes that make the resort fun and whimsical to children and adults alike. And they all have similar features. Each resort offers 2 pools, a playground, arcade, and a quick service food court for breakfast, lunch, dinner and late night snacks! Disney Transportation is included and you are eligible to take part in Disney's Extra Magic Hours.
However, there are some complaints about these resorts as well. Historically, the rooms are on the smaller side. And the rooms are showing their age. Still - if you're living it up at the parks - the room is mainly for sleeping anyways.. right?!

The great part is that Disney has been working to renovate these rooms. Work was started last year at All-Star Movies. By July 2019, it's estimated that a little over half the rooms at this resort will be completed - primarily in Toy Story, Fantasia, Mighty Ducks, and Love Bug buildings. You'll notice the updated rooms have laminate wood flooring, updated bathrooms and the biggest change is the space-saving Murphy-bed that can be used as a table during the day. Another big change is that the older rooms feature two double beds. The renovated rooms are being equipped with two queen beds!
So - as of June 2019 - All-Star Movies might be your best bed for a renovated room, but if music is your jam or if sports is your specialty - then don't be scared away by the other two All-Star options. It's Disney! The quality and all the amenities are still there and you're sure to have a great stay!
